The uncomfortable truth about most corporate training is that it's designed for delivery, not for memory. Content is presented, slides are complete, the room nods — and within weeks, most of it is gone. Not because people didn't care, but because the design ignored how brains learn.
Attention, emotion, action
Brains encode what they attend to, feel something about, and use. Brain-friendly design engages all three: experiences that demand active decisions rather than passive listening; emotional stakes — competition, surprise, real consequences in a simulation; and immediate application to the challenges people actually face.
That's why our programmes are built on experience: business simulations, game-based learning like EVIVVE, real plays, experiential challenges and real-time feedback. Participants don't hear about great performance. They attempt it, fail safely, get feedback and try again.
The forgetting curve is the real opponent
Even a brilliant workshop decays without reinforcement. Embedding — application challenges, coaching, peer accountability, manager involvement and spaced practice — is where learning becomes behaviour. Sustainable development isn't an event. It's a process.
